A A Laquis Ltd Medical Division’s
Administration and Distribution Center is located just on the
outskirts of the Capital City of Port-of-Spain. Purpose designed, it
comprises 45,000 sq feet of warehousing with a 5,000 sq foot
administration center attached.
While our present distribution network
has met our past needs, today however, the company has expanded at
such a rapid rate that we have outgrown these facilities.
Earmarked for completion in July of 2006
is a new purpose built state-of-the-art facility designed to
accommodate our staff of one hundred and twenty five people and give
us the capacity for staff expansion of up to 175 employees. This will
include a new administrative center, training facilities and
warehousing facilities on ten (10) acres of land. Our warehousing
capacity will be upgraded to 100,000 square feet while our
administrative center will be upgraded to 10,000 square feet of usable
office space.
The new warehousing facilities will have
the capacity to facilitate a maximum of four import and two export
containers at any one time. We will continue to maintain an attached
customs bonded facility and expand our cold storage facilities at the
new location.
We also
currently maintain a Seminar & Training facility as an extension of
our Head Office, and it acts as our in-house Mini-Administration
Training Facility. Seating fifty (50) people, it includes all the
amenities required. This facility is primarily used by our suppliers
in the training of doctors on the specific lines that we represent and
to launch new products into the medical field. To date we have held
three very successful Caribbean seminars with participants from all
major Caribbean islands and numerous local seminars and training
sessions for medical practitioners.
At A.A. Laquis Ltd we also manage our own
distribution network including a dedicated sales force of 35 people
and our own fleet of highly visible dark blue and red delivery
vehicles.
We are an extremely technologically
innovative company, having had our existing distribution and
e-business software packages recently upgraded by IBM. This $2 million
dollar investment (only six other companies in the Caribbean currently
use this technology) enables us to manage our operations in tandem
with all of our international suppliers and to provide our entire
customer base with the most efficient service of any distribution
facility.
A.A. Laquis has the manpower, facilities
and capacity to continue to provide both our suppliers and customers
with the best representation and service.
