A. A. Laquis Limited was founded in 1948 by Anthony A. Laquis Snr. and is now owned and managed by the third generation of the Laquis family. The company is based in Trinidad, the most southerly of the Caribbean Islands, and is concerned with business interests and trading partners throughout the Caribbean Region.

We continuously strive to provide health care products at the most competitive prices.  We are a one-stop shop for all health care related products, providing the widest selection of medical supplies and medical equipment. 

Our Trade Division is divided into two separate divisions: 

1. The Medical Division is a trading business dealing with medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. A. A. Laquis Ltd is the largest such company in the Caribbean representing over 70 international companies on an exclusive basis including most of the premium international medical brands. Distribution as an entire company extends to all Governments, doctors, dentists, hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, supermarkets, manufacturing industries, food service industries, service stations and the oil based industries.

The Medical Division also owns and operates five (5) retail Home Health Care Centers supplying the needs of the private market in Trinidad and Tobago. The Home Health Care Retail Centers maintain an active data base of over 10, 000 customers all of whom are issued customer cards and who actively partake in our training sessions covering issues as diverse as diabetes to high blood pressure to caring for the infirm.

AA Laquis actively supports all medical organizations and is an active participant in all trade shows, seminars and educational courses. We have hosted several Caribbean seminars and continue to be the largest supplier to the Caribbean based medical fraternity. We participate in all government tenders and are in fact the largest suppliers to the Trinidad & Tobago government and a major supplier to most of the English speaking Caribbean governments.  

2. The Consumer HBA – In view of the distribution synergies involved, the Medical Supply Division has spawned a separate and very successful trading division with distribution to all supermarkets and pharmacies. This division focuses on consumer and personal care products. We represent over 30 brands on an exclusive basis including four private label brands owned by AA Laquis.

We believe in companies who, in entering this region, are willing to invest with a premium-trading partner in building sustainable brand equity for their products over a long period of time.

Other Company Interests

In addition to a trade division, the company is the majority shareholder in nine subsidiary companies concerned with real estate development and management.  Some of our major developments include the building of office space and warehousing to spec for grade A tenants within the Caribbean region, including Insurance Companies, Banks, Government Ministries, Multinational Corporations and Private Businesses. 

Residential Development – We have been involved in the building and ownership of several residential developments and apartment complexes  

Management – We maintain and manage all property owned by A. A. Laquis Limited, including shopping plazas and commercial developments.
